Certifications & Skills
1. Certified Wilderness Skills Instructor
During the summer of 2012 I participated in a wilderness skills instructor certification course with Primitive Pursuits, through Cornell Cooperative Extension. The training included 160 hours of field time and 2 camping trips during which I learned naturalist skills, bio-regional knowledge, tree and plant identification, fire by friction, animal tracking, bird language, and natural navigation techniques. Most importantly this course also focused how to teach these skills and be a mentor by framing these activities meaningfully for groups of youth.

2. RTE First Aid & CPR Professional Certified
-Certified in Spring 2013

3. GPS and Map Making Experience
-I used a Garmin etrex handheld GPS device to track animals across the landscape of IC. The final product of this work was creating a map on Google-maps of individual animal activity and daily routines.
